Join the Texel Greenmapper experiment. Your input helps improve protection and management of nature and landscapes. And we donate €15 to nature on Texel when you complete all steps.
The donation is made by the project team after completion. You never pay anything.
Step 1: Map your places (+€ 5 donation)
Mark your favorite nature areas on Texel (and beyond) and briefly share why they matter to you and what you enjoy doing there.
(Includes quick account creation + privacy-friendly home location.)
Step 2: Allocate your nature budget (+€5 donation)
Choose a realistic yearly nature budget and divide it across your mapped areas and goals (e.g., biodiversity, landscape, culture, sustainable business).
Step 3: Support real Texel projects (+€5 donation)
Respond to funding requests from our Texel nature partner: would you support these projects, and how much?

WHAT IS TEXEL GREENMAPPER?
Texel Greenmapper is part of Greenmapper: an international research platform where people act as “citizen scientists”.
We at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands have a double mission with Greenmapper.
First, we want to strengthen both science and policy with better data on the appreciation of nature and landscapes. For this we are building a crowd-sourced Greenmapper Attractive Nature Database. Our aim is to have 125.000 representative respondents from 50 countries marking nature places: at local, regional, national, and global levels to allow for serious analysis and policy support at all levels.
Second, we want to make it easy and normal for fans of areas to be reachable online for governance purposes. For this, we develop the Greenmapper Friends platform. We aim for 1 million people being reachable as an online friend of their favorite nature areas and landscapes, to digitally revolutionize nature and landscape governance.
